I was told that the pump was installed in the 1980s. The 8” underground was 
reduced to 6” inside the building and that went to the pump suction. At some 
point, someone added a 6” RPZ in the suction line of the pump and it hasn’t 
tested properly since.   
  

  
I was hired to design the replacement pump.   
  

  
I convinced them to replace the 6” mess with an 8” double check and the proper 
8” suction line first. The test is very close to being adequate, except for a 
few questions. This being one of them.
