I have been having the same problem. I'm a new owner of the SQ3 (and
very happy with it incidentally). The reliability of the SN connection
seems to be intermittent.

I don't believe it can be gateway/DNS setting related. Yesterday, I was
having the problem. I left it for a short while (30 minutes or so) and
came back and it connected no problem. I hadn't changed any of the
settings.

I have also been having problems registering the PIN but that's another
topic. I want to try some more things first but may post a new thread if
it's still playing up.

I'm running SlimServer version 6.5.0 and firmware version 64 (I think
... the latest version) over a wireless network.

Before my wireless connection is questioned, currently the SB sits
adjacent to the router and reports 100% signal strenth.
