Can we end this thread? You need a new battery if your date and time can't
keep track. You need a new battery if you or the previous owner have
unplugged the computer for months on end. You need a new battery if you have
within the last five years left your computer unplugged for any given time.
You might need a new battery if your computer doesn't finish the IPL process.
If you aren't willing to hunt down every strange thing that has happened to
your computer, then the first thing that you should replace is the battery.
If you can't say for certain that your battery is good, then any trouble that
you might have, and most definitely can have, might be because of a battery
problem.
Check your bloody battery first.
When batteries go bad, bazaar things happen. It pisses me off to no end to
have wasted my time in hunting down a problem that is simply battery related.
I'm sure that I'm not the only one that has this attitude..
Please, check your batteries first before posting a problem.

PS: sorry, thing are extremely stressed for me right now. I hate it when I'm
trite. I really do try to research the holy beejabers out of every question
that is posted. It is just that things are kind of hard for me right now and
my temper is totally short. Sorry.
