Dave,

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! - is my normal motto - but I stayed 
on 9.0 for as short a time as possible - I found it very unstable and 
moved quickly to 9.1 (thro 0.4). If you can get 9.1 cheaply, I would 
go for it. I have found it to be as stable as was my old Quadra on 6. 
something - it never crashed in four years.  It seems to me that 9.1 
is both quicker and more stable than 9.0

I know of no good reason to go beyond 9.1, unless running a G4.
