Having serious problems with a SIIG UltraATA 133/100 Pro card on my StarMax 3000/200. If I use it to boot with either of my Ultra ATA/133 Maxtor HD's I hang. The nice tech folks at OWC only suggest I use the AV utility from Acard to correct the problem, but utility doesn't recognize my card. So what's the point of having a faster contoller card If you have to cripple it anyway? Quicktime movies are the best, & I don't experience audio skipping with the card. Tried fewer other cards/extensions, swapping slots, lowering the disc cache, and the fewer of everything helps, but no real fix, sooner or later everything freezes. Tried allocating more app memory, virtual memory on/off & sys 8.6 & 9.1. I think the prob is with the G3/320 JoeCard installed, although I haven't tried removing it (I have no cache for the slot & wouldn't want to run that way, anyhow). So I'm presently back to using the stock IDE bus to run & the SIIG card is for backup only. I'd rather have an IDE card that I didn't have to reformat to use, also. Is there one out there? The slower/cheaper UltraTek UltraATA/66 PCI Interface might work better? Any options/suggestions?
