I did some looking at message headers, and they both came from AOL. Not 
entirely surprising, since AOL has quite a few members as we all know.

However, the offending message included two extra lines that no other 
message from Linda included:
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"

Only that message included those two lines.

In addition, the offending message made it extra aware who it was 
supposedly from, a common tactic of impersonators. Linda doesn't strike me 
as the type to intentionally get herself thrown off the list.

At this time, I don't see any reason not to believe her, looks like someone 
is trying to get people thrown off the list.
