I'm sorry if it sounded "a bit harsh" and I have no desire to discourage
people.  But it is a truthful statement of how I feel about 'Independent
mode'.  I assure you I am equally capable of extolling the virtues of good
programming, and I long for the day when I can do this for ST-Fax, which
seems to me to be a /potentially/ superb package, let down only by, erm, the
one thing I bought it for.

I have considered it.  And I thank you for the suggestion. Fact of the matter
is that I am instinctively reluctant to leave the  Amiga and possibly the
printer running all day every day just on the off-chance of an occasional
fax.  I'm sorry to keep repeating myself [I /will/ stop!] but the very reason
I chose the Pace Solo and St-Fax was because of Active Tech's promo about how
I could receive faxes on the modem while the mig was switched off.
