Ah, you've heard me trip over that one? :-). I actually like "web" better than "http" for a different reason -- it doesn't presume the "one true way" protocol will be around forever. While talking about contexts and layers, there's actually room for a controller layer below the HTTP layer as well, on top of which you can build the web layer and then the app layer. The general pattern is also useful in business logic as well. That idea, and some of your earlier thoughts, were part of the inspiration for commons-chain -- which I've been noodling on for about six months but never had time to get finished and polished enough to post until this last weekend. > -Ted.
