I'm sure the Daily Mail will run a headline mocking the "EU bureaucracy" for suggesting that they can make summer last all year long.

If you look at the Greenwich meridian
you will see that it has a longer run
through France than through the U.K.

This suggests, to me(!), that both
countries should be on GMT.

Ah, but to me it suggests that the prime meridian should have been Paris, not Greenwich. All of Western Europe could then have had just one timezone!
