any update to this. We just put out about 40 new Sun Ray2's and the Type
7 keyboard and about half of them are experiencing frequent lockups...
thanks

When the USB guys figure it out I'll send to the list.
The situation with the keyboards that have shown this problem
in the lab here is that they produce a relatively high rate of
USB signalling errors. If the keyboard is otherwise idle, and
therefore the DTU never sees any good traffic from the keyboard,
then the cumulative error count can rise to the point where the
Sun Ray firmware decides that the keyboard is broken. At that
point the Sun Ray blacklists the keyboard and won't talk to it
again until it's been replugged or the Sun Ray has been
power-cycled.
The keyboard guys are now trying to figure out what's causing
the unusual USB error rate. In the meantime as a workaround
we're looking at the possibility of modifying the firmware to not
permanently blacklist the keyboard, or at least significantly
raising the point at which it would do that. I'll let the list know
how that goes.
OttoM.
