Wait a min the B&W machine is a New World ROM Mac!!! There should be no 8GB limit. I believe the Beige G3 was the last machine made with this limit!
Happy Turkey day. Will S

I already have a VST UltraTek 66 card that, in my S900, has the 8 gig limit. Are you saying that in the B&W it won't have this limit? That would certainly be good news.

Dan

It would seem that should be the case. Shouldn't be any 8gb limit with any ATA PCI card in the B&W or newer machine. I guess there could be some sort of limit in the cards firmware but the machine should be the limiting factor not the card. You will just have to test it and let us know. I couldn't find any info at the VST forum at OWC on this subject. Most people are using the card with older machines which do have the limit.
Are you sure you need to use an ATA PCi card with the B&W machine? You should be able to use at least 1 IDE drive along with the CD or DVD IDE drive on the machines built in ide controller. Some B&W that came with a SCSI card and drive may have a one port IDE cable going to the CD or DVD drive but it can be replaced with a Master/ slave cable. ATA on the B&W is listed as Ultra IDE which could be 33 or 66 MHz. I don't know which it is.The beige G3 is 33 MHz. best of luck Will S
