Are you sure you need to use an ATA PCi card with the B&W machine? You should be able to use at least 1 IDE drive along with the CD or DVD IDE drive on the machines built in ide controller. Some B&W that came with a SCSI card and drive may have a one port IDE cable going to the CD or DVD drive but it can be replaced with a Master/ slave cable. ATA on the B&W is listed as Ultra IDE which could be 33 or 66 MHz. I don't know which it is.The beige G3 is 33 MHz. best of luck
I haven't received the B&W G3 yet, so I'm not sure if it's a Rev 1 or a Rev 2 motherboard. The Rev1s had a defective IDE controller which would only support 1 drive, and would cause corruption on many other drives if you replaced the original with a larger drive. Also, it is ATA 33.
So, if it is a Rev1 with the bad IDE controller, I'll use my converted Adaptec SCSI card and go that way. If the "PC to Mac conversion" on the Adaptec card fails, then I'll go IDE. Of course, if it's a Rev 2 then I'll just put in a couple of IDE drives on the motherboard IDE channel and be done with it.
In any case, I'll try the VST UltraTek card and see if it has the 8 gig limit on a "New World" Mac.
