Excellent... thanks... will add my op to one of these.
Well, both are bugs reported against Thunderbird. While in the end the
bug may be in shared code, having a SeaMonkey-specific bug would ensure
that we could at least find consensus on our side and create a
SeaMonkey-only fix in case TB doesn't want to fix it.
You know, when I suggest something, I do it for a reason.
Let's see whether your comment will trigger a reaction. If it won't,
feel free to file a SeaMonkey-specific bug.
Note: Fixing the bug is not a technical problem. Technically it could be
fixed within a few hours. The problem is that those who take the
decisions need to be convinced first. Remember: Any bug fix needs a bug
on bugzilla.mozilla.org *and* a positive review (often more) before it
can be incorporated into any Mozilla product. In that succession, filing
a bug is the first and often easiest step, because even if you then have
a fix on the bug it can take from weeks to months until it is reviewed.
I find that's more common than the exception, unfortunately.
FWIW, if it was all my decision, this would already be fixed.
Greetings,
Jens
