Remember, Java is not the same as javascript.
Fast Check for *Java*: http://www.java.com/de/download/installed8.jsp/
Clicking on that link ....

Or does that mean I don't have Java installed
Hmm!! When re-reading my post, I noticed your link had an "8" in it, so
thinking that may have caused the problem, I copied your address into a
tab of my browser, edited out the "8", hit return ..... and got the same
error message!! ;-(
You should have removed the errant / (slash) at the end of the above link.
http://www.java.com/de/download/installed8.jsp or for English
http://www.java.com/en/download/installed8.jsp
And that language would be ..............?? Seeing a word which almost
looks like "Amsterdam", I'm guessing Dutch!!

Congratulations!
You have the recommended Java installed (Version 8 Update 101).

But .... Bugger, at other times, when I've gone to Tools->Add-On
Manager, I've been sent to the "Plug-ins" screen, but this time (without
looking) I was taken to the "Extensions" screen, where Java is not
listed, so figured I didn't have Java installed.
So, this time, the Java test page told me I had Java 8U101 installed,
and it shows on the "Extensions" screen, not the "Plug-ins" screen where
SM took me this time.
Why??
