I am sure it doesn't help that there is no actual
HTML5 standard, as yet.  That is to say, there
is no *ratified* standard.  The last time I looked,
a ratified standard was scheduled for late 2014.
Hopefully, when this happens, browsers will
make an extra effort to adhere to it.
