Thank you Boanne. Nice to know, as I have never experienced something
like it my self - only prepared to avoid it :) I noticed Sam Heywood
was on to the same thing in his reply. But then, we will not know
for sure, if this really was the right solution to Karen's disk
problem, until she reports back online again. I hope she will
of course...

Hmm I recall one time, couple of years ago on a mailing list similar
to this, one of the regulars asked about how to upgrade his Bios. He
got several replies and had many follow up questions about how to
proceed. Then he said he was going to perform the upgrade the
following evening, and report back to the list the next day. We
never heard from him again, and for all I know he is still trying.
That's online-life for you: Now you see me, now you don't...
