I would like to find this out myself since I've heard from time to time on
this list that there was a dialer with Netscape. I have used Netscape from
1.2 (used Mosaic earlier <g>) and have *never* seen a dialer that came with
either (Trumpet works great).

Documentation? Hmm... can't recall I've ever even looked to see if there
was any ;)

I can send you mine if you want, just let me know.
I must say (as I've said before) all I've ever had to change in my set up
is which port the modem is on, the speed, phone number, DNS, gateway,
netmask, login and password. Never anything more complex then that.
I could probably experiment with the mss and mtu settings but I don't want
to even bother ;)
Hmm... apparently I did change something to get a 56K modem to work (I saw
some comments in the login.cmd file). But I still have the original file if
you want to get it (quite frankly it's the official one that you get from
Trumpet).

Perhaps I can give a short run down on what you need to do:

In File|Setup fill in:
IP adress 0.0.0.0 (it should already be this)
Name Server
Internal PPP
DCD (RLSD) check (what is this anyway?)
Hardware Handshaking
SLIP Port (com port)
Baud rate (they mean bps rate to the modem but state it incorrectly - my
modems baud rate is 4800 IIRC)

In the file trumpet.ini:
Netmask
Gateway

File|PPP options:
Use Password... (yada yada) (PAP)
Username
Password

Now exit WinSock, start it again.
Press Alt-D and Enter (shortcut for Dialer|Login)
Wait for the message: My IP is x.x.x.x (or something like that)
Alt-Tab to Program Manager and start Netscape.

Voila! :)

BTW: Make sure that in Dialer|Options you have set to use the standard SLIP
settings for parity and word size
