Hi Keith, It may be that there is some kind of economy and people may trade off, but it appears to be totally family oriented. Since our closest family is 3000 miles away, we don't have anyone to trade with. We are slowly finding people, but mostly it is teaching how to weatherproof a house and lower their power bill. The concept that dinner does not come from a package is taking longer to catch on. That we do home butcher and refuse to use chemicals on the land, gets us called crazy. Many people just plain refuse to use our compost toilets. I have actually had people do a 4 mile round trip just to use their own facilities and to avoid mine.
We are members of several lists for intentional communities, and we are talking to some people about forming or joining but that would be after we sold this farm.
