Hi Folks,
Bill and I are finally launching our new website,
www.tcgasmap.org We hope to get more sleep soon!
It has a map of Tompkins County showing all the gas leases, and you
can
zoom in to see individual tax parcels--so people can look up their land, or
state parks and wild areas, and see how much they may be affected.
We hope this will help to alert local residents to this issue, help
them
to visualize the scale of development that may be coming, and motivate more
people to get involved and to comment on the SGEIS due out in September.
Also, there is a page of in-depth information on gas drilling, and a
page
of numerous annotated links to articles, organizations, and other sources
of information.
I'm sure it still has lots of mistakes and bugs and things that
could be
better. We will be working on the heading for the home page more, and the
text layout still needs perfecting. We are still learning!!! But, please
let us know what could be improved, what should be added, and if you find
any mistakes. How is the text size? Is it too big?
Please send info on this site to anyone that you think might be
interested--we need your help to spread the word.
