I was testing on Windows XP so perhaps this makes a difference. > first make sure your code validates: > http://validator.w3.org/check? uri=http://www.pixelpalaces.com/dk/toh1.svgz > it doesn't at the moment I've corrected the errors (although I haven't added a DTD) so now it validates for SVG 1.1. Now instead of frame 3-5 being blank in Firefox, frames 1&2 are also blank! It works fairly well in Safari, allowing for the lack of support for filters or SMIL, although in frame 7, Dawn's bikini top seems to have been displaced by a finite improbability generator (do they even work in psychic VR?). Google Chrome does exactly the same as Safari (even the bikini top!). Opera doesn't diplay the hot zones (areas with an animated filter which should receive events - it does work in some other files with essentially the same code) and it seems to get corrupted so you have to keep reloading every couple of frames. > I suggest breaking the code up into smaller pages. > you might even want to consider xmlhttprequest to upload parts of the > story in the same page > http://www.openicon.org has examples in svg such as live chat as to > how this can be done I don't know anything about this. The idea of having relatively large files was so parts which are used in multiple files (like the navigation system) don't have to be repeated so often. It would be nice if an SVG file could reference objects in different files or if you could have an SVG in an image with full animation and interactivity (I wouldn't have thought this would be difficult for a program which can do this in the main SVG). > use css where possible, keep script to a minimum My issue with this is that ASV3 doesn't support subclasses and I want it to work well in ASV3, at least until it's no longer practical to use it or something better comes along (I suspect Opera and maybe Firefox will be there after the next upgrade).
