Hello there,
it's still me - sorry for bothering, but I really have many questions
and issues popping out from my mind :-)
Now it's about website and logo.
As far as I've understood, we need a status page [1] and a website [2].
My questions arise especially about [2]:
1. Syncope IdM has already a website [3]: my idea is that such website
will remove any project information or documentation as soon as ASF site
and wiki will be ready; moreover, [3] will contain a link to ASF site
and wiki and will provide only information related to paid activities
about Apache Syncope as provided by Tirasa [4], my company: is this fine?
The base idea is that the official Syncope web site will be hosted by
The ASF. That Tirasa sells support on Syncope is not The ASF business,
as soon as Tirasa attribute The ASF for the ownership. For instance, the
Tirasa Web Site and documentaion *must* refers "Syncope" as "Apache
Syncope", and mention that "Syncope, Apache Syncope and Apache" names
are The ASF properties.
You can even 'advertize' Tirasa on the ASF Syncope web site as a company
offering support on Syncope, as soon as other companies requesting to
offer some support on Apache Syncope are allowed to do the same thing.
Although I would say that until there is a diverse community around
Syncope, I would not encourage such an innitiative, but it's just me :)
2. Syncope IdM logo [5] does not obviously comply with [6] nor [7], so
my proposal would be to elaborate a compliant logo out of current one
and to send it here for checking: what do you think?
That's just fine, as soon as those who designed the logo agree to see
the logo to be modified. Note that you just have to add a little TM in
the logo.
3. Syncope IdM has Twitter [8] and Identi.ca [9] accounts: should we put
them under PPMC control in some way? We had a similar discussion at
Cocoon PMC a while ago, right Simone?
I don't think it's necessary. Again, what happens outside of the dev and
private ML does not happen, from the ASF POV, so it's just fine to have
external channels being used, as soon as the attribution to The ASF is
correctly exposed.
If any other mentors have a different vision that mine, please correct me !
