Ask yourself how seriously you'd commit to using a service that didn't take an active stance in refusing to accept software that does a bad job. What's striking here is other tool developers have been amenable to simple fixes like this yet the wordpress folks have not. That and other tool developers had a generally open mind toward learning about and implementing internationalization features. I'm sure the wordpress folks are nice enough people but their attitude on this issue has been less than ideal. It seems they've already made up their minds about not fixing it and being unwilling to address the problems it can cause. I'm sure there are any number of other bug fixes and features they'd rather spend their time developing. But it doesn't change the fact this issue was brought to their attention quite a while ago and they chose to dismiss it.
