Now that's disappointing. Sorry to see you go Frank. Listen folks, the goal here is better feeds. That's all. Not from an editorial standpoint, god only knows what a morass that would be, but from a technical one. If a tool out there is making bad data (any tool, not just wordpress) then I'm of the opinion it's worth expending some effort to get the tools fixed. If the tool developers insist on ignoring the issues there's really little other choice than to reject the bad feeds it produces. As to whether that need 'escalate' into any blanket action, please, think rationally. It wouldn't help anyone to take any drastic measures. I've had a long history of being very cooperative and assisting with the various tool developers and I don't expect that to change any time soon. Look at it this way, the people that help HERE on Syndic8 are complaining about how tedious it is to keep seeing defective feeds produced by WordPress. And when those motivated volunteers reached out to ask about fixes they were, well, let's just say their concerns weren't shared by the developers. Meanwhile more users attempting to produce feeds with the tool make bad feeds and the problem increases in quantity. The reviewers helping here keep seeing more bad feeds and lose their motivation. This is a bad thing. I'm sorry if anyone feels "put out" by my expressing a strong set of opinions about this issue. But if someone doesn't put forth some effort nothing's going to get done about the problem. This isn't about whether I'm interested in exercising some sort of mean-spirited or arrogant campaign and I resent it being cast that way. It's about making sure the people that HELP here on Syndic8 and are aided by what we produce. I'm sure there are all sorts of ways to approach this situation and others might choose to do it differently.
