They'd get marked as being in need of repair, not rejected. When it's defaulted to english and the content's not english then it's broken and should be marked as such. Trouble is theres A LOT OF THESE. And they're represented in greater proportion as being produced by Wordpress driven sites. > If you're saying, reject all Wordpress feeds regardless of the presence > of a language tag -- which is certainly how I read two of your posts -- > then I certainly *do* have a problem with it, and not just because my > own site runs WordPress. Pressure, when applied at the right points, works wonders for getting tools repaired. Sometimes even the possiblity encourages action. Let's hope they take the steps to address this on-going problem. As for unfairness toward a tool, don't think for a moment any favorites are played here. Nor is anything being singled out unfairly. There have been several past cases where a tool developer recognized the problem, committed to fixing it and eventually released it. Let's hope WP follows that course. > If you were suggesting the former (acting solely on the presence or > absence of the language information), then I apologize for the > misunderstanding. More like overreacting, but that's typical in e-mail exchanges. No worries. The goal here is to get better feeds. If the wordpress folks can address the problem then ceases to be an issue. If they continue on the present course, however, it may require their audience be made aware of the problem. That can be a complicated endeavor. Most of the time developers of a tool realize the value in not having 'issues' raised with their audience. It's usually easier to get the tool developer to fix it rather than have their user-base gather up in arms because of it. It's also a lot smarter. The WP developers are smart folks, let's hope they address and fix it. -Bill Kearney ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Make a clean sweep of pop-up ads. Yahoo!
