> If you want to get into specifics, suggest you get your facts straight
first. Winning the NCs means nothing in a WORLD Ranking sense, much as I
hate that fact. Williams did beat Coby Miller there, and he's ranked ahead
of Miller in the U.S. Rankings.
Why would the NCs not mean anything in a world ranking sense ?? Many of the
worlds top sprinters are often still in college .. Williams had to be the
likes of Miller and TRammell to gain that title .. And ran a 10.03 to do so
.. How many seasons have we seen the 100 and 200 rankings dominated by
college types ?? During the 80s for example the lists were dominated by
collegians like Stanley Floyd, James SAnford, Emmitt King, Mel Lattany,
Jerome Deal, Calvin Smith, Kirk Baptiste, Ray STewart .. And I could go on
and on .. Economics may have changed that some in the 90s as top individuals
have been leaving school rapidly to earn dollars on the circuit, but
sprinters like Boldon and Fredericks, Oba and others were still be ranked
while in college .. So if the competition is there (and it obviously alwyas
has been) why would NCs not make an impact on the world sceen ?? As many non
Americans compete as Americans and if the quality of race is there why not
count it .. There are few races annually that prduce better results than the
NCs .. I have seen them used in the past to justify rankings points so why
do they suddenly not exist now ??
> As for his competitive record, suggest you pay more attention to the
races before running your mouth. After his NCAA win, Williams ran in 9
races, never winning. How manypeople in the crowd see the following (his
record after NCAA, where it starts to really count) as a top-10-in-the world
season?

Well I pay attention to the races and I am going to run my mouth for a
minute .. If we are going to use race statistics then lets use them all ..
You talk about who he lost to but never about who he beat .. And just as he
lost to some folks he also beat a lot of folks ..
In Berlin beat Brian Lewis, Donovan BAiley, Francis Obikwelu, and Ato Boldon
In Brussells beat ATo Boldon, Brian Lewis, Darren Campbell, Jon Drummond,
Patrick Stevens, Donovan BAiley, and Zakari ABdul Aziz
In Lausanne beat Dwain Chambers
In Gateshead beat Maurice Greene, Darren Campbell, Greg Saddler, Ian Mackie,
Jason GArdner, and Donovan BAiley

he also has a significant number of losses against others who didn't get a
sniff at the World Rankings.

Actually looks like he has a lot of victories against those ranked ahead of
him .. And beat most more than they beat him .. And his losses seem to occur
at the end of the collegiate season when he should have been tired .. By the
middle to end of the Europeean season he was dominating all ahead of him
save Greene when everyone was at their best heading into the games .. But
hey I don't get a vote ... But it doees look to me as if he deserved a place
in the top 10 .. Looks like he had Campbell's number .. Beat Boldon enough
.. Split with Chambers .. BEat Obikwelu in their meeting .. Split with Brian
Lewis .. And was clearly better than Montgomery and Brokenburr who couldn't
beat anybody .. That takes care of everybody in the top 10 except Greene and
Drummond .. And Drummond was ranked woefully low .. Just an opion .. But I
did bring my facts to the table ..
