Hi Peter

Could the flight try to cover the Long Marston rail depot about 3 miles south of Stratford? I mapped as much as could on a cycle ride that passed by the perimeter, and would like to complete it.

Too late! JR flew it yesterday afternoon in excellent conditions and I am waiting for him to post his first photos for inspection and to do his blog post about it - stay tuned - there may be an updated this afternoon.

I don't know who much else he managed to capture, I do know they spent most of their time over Stratford and has a lot of photos to show for it.

Peter

Just to let you know that OpenStreetMap is hiring a plane and will be
taking aerial photography of Stratford-upon-Avon on this Thursday 10th
September at 3pm as long as the weather holds good. Is this a first
for the project??

It is of course a bit of an experiment as none of us are experts in
aerial photography, but OpenStreetMap should hopefully have some
excellent photographs available in the public domain soon afterwards.
We are confident that it will generate some useful results even if we
learn how to go about it better in future.

JR Peterson will be the photographer and the flight is being paid for
by ITO World Ltd.

Traveline are also supporting the improvement on Stratford-upon-Avon
data in advance of the conference and the NaPTAN data for the county
was imported yesterday. We will be showing off the improved OSM
mapping and linkages to Traveline at the conference.

Regards,

Peter
