Correction: Some aspects of simple route relations are handled correctly by iD. The basic fact remains that you don't even see that something is part of a relation. So if a crossroads is turned into a roundabout. The mapper using iD has no way of knowing that the new roundabout should be added to the route (let alone a way of doing it). Like written elsewhere, these features are somewhere in the development pipeline. The only thing asked, is not to make iD the default for unsuspecting new editors until it really is ready for prime time.
