This is at least partially a Firefox issue, actually, and something that will need to be worked on there, see the investigations and explanations in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=837985 (two of the most distinguished Mozilla developers have weighed in there, I hope that it will get some attention soon).
