Unless I'm missing something:
linux: mount -t iso9660 -o loop /path/to/.iso /mnt

solaris: lofiadm -a /path/to/.iso
mount -F hsfs /dev/lofi/1 (or whatever first command returns)

on macos: ??

cd, edit, etc.
