As another LOPSA member pointed out in a direct message, ISO filesystems are read-only. I knew this, but I tried forcing a read/write mount a few days ago anyway to see if I could work around it, but of course, that did not work with "traditional" disk utilities. On MacOS I tried both mount and hdiutil. I'm thinking that there has to be /some/ utility out there that would let someone edit a text file directly on an iso by ignoring or working around the filesystem limitations, but maybe that's wishful thinking.
