Yeah, like everybody said, you can setup a client bridge. Another thing 
you can do, if your access point (client side) supports it, is discover 
the other access point, and click 'join'. Basically, it turns the access 
point from infrastructure provider to consumer.

dd-wrt does a good job of this. I've bought  a few dd-wrt preinstalled 
access points off ebay with good results.

There are at least 2 ways to do it, but I wouldn't necessarily put WDS 
in there. It provides extra capabilities that you wouldn't necessarily 
need and takes away half the bandwidth, plus some wireless chips aren't 
terribly compatible with others with WDS.
