A wrt54gl with alternate firmware will work great, although toms suggestion is 
good as well, and likely cheaper.

One alternative, if you're planning on living in your current place for a 
while, is to install hard line ethernet through the house.  After a point the 
gigabit speeds of wired ethernet are attractive.
