Yes, Windows 7 licenses include both the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions, within the same edition. So you are entitled to replace a 32 bit Win 7 Pro with a 64 bit Win 7 Pro (but not a 64 bit Win 7 Ultimate, for instance).

I replaced the 32 bit Win 7 Pro that came with my X301 with the 64 bit version. The process involved is described here:
