Please check that you have the following settings for the Hotmail
account:

Your user name should be your full email address
Server settings for the POP server should be;
Server name: localhost
Port number: 110
Connection security: None (localhost is a virtual server running on
your
computer a secure connection would be meaningless)
Authentication method: Password transmitted insecurely
