Let's do apply our powerful analytical engines to ourselves as well as to Michael. I certainly do think though that if Michael is going to be allowed to participate he should be given due process and allowed to explain his actions. I do happen to agree with Louis on this one. I know Michael is a real irritant sometimes but he does make me think. I don't think I'm comfortable with his participation if he isn't willing to explain his actions as there seems to be a clear affront to the lists credibility as academic honesty is rather foundational to anyone taking us seriously.
