I've long since stopped really being concerned about the effects of Michael's
behavior, since I realized that he's not really teaching psychology (though I don't
think that Embry-Riddle would agree that he's "harmless").
I just get pleasure out of showing no mercy, when none is merited.
To be honest, I hope that Michael does keep posting to the list (and I
strongly suspect that he will - he is obviously convinced that persistence is a
virtue, and in fact that it makes a good substitute for other virtues), because I
really do find his comments amusing. For example, I really got a kick out of it a few
weeks ago when, faced with an obvious reductio ad absurdum (regarding inanimate
objects' abilities to make discoveries), Michael chose the absurdum. That was
priceless.
His behavior really isn't that far from that of many others on the internet.
If you've participated in open online discussions for any length of time, you've seen
a variety of these trolls.
