Posting grades by SS# is a serious problem and a violation of student
grade confidentiality. It is far to easy to identify particular
students (particularly foreign students) on the basis of social security
number.

In addition, if one has a social security number they can access a
wealth of information concerning a person including their credit
history!

Listing students by student number can result in similar difficulties.
One needs to either generate random numbers to be assigned to students
or not post grades.

Our door cartoon copyright lawsuits will pale in comparison to the legal
problems potentially generated by the above.

Best wishes,

linda
