I've been catching up on TIPS posts today. Jim mentioned Rushton's appearance
on Geraldo, which occurred on February 16th, 1989, just a few months after
Geraldo's nose was broken during a fight that broke out among his guests on
another show in which he focused on racism
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5rCInKxSaQ).

I remember the Rushton appearance well because my dissertation advisor, Jerry
Hirsch, was a guest on that show (I had been a graduate student in his lab
until receiving my Ph.D. in 1987). He had been brought on to debate Rushton.
After Hirsch gave an overly long, convoluted, academic answer to a question,
Geraldo never returned to him. My former advisor was not someone to throw
chairs around a set.

Best,
Jeff
