What about in the menus, I believe there is a 'Record By Time And Channel' selection or something like that, even in the 3.x software. As for the remote, I just looked around online and the Thomson remote will supposedly work OK with a US Philips TiVo. > Something was mentioned about resetting the remote? Pretty much - though not with rabbit ears for much longer as analog goes away in February. > To recap the specifics: Tivo series 1, 112; Cox cable, no box; I have > done a full system reset; it has had close to two weeks to make its > phone calls; it is skipping anything about channel lineup during > Guided Setup, which has been gone through numerous times; there are > no channels registering in the Tivo; the remote is not working, but > enough to get the Tivo setup, I think. Could you please tell me how > to "reset" the remote, in case that's part of the problem? I'm not sure what you mean by 'no channels registering'. Without a TiVo subscription it has no guide at all, so it is strictly a 'tune by number' operation. And any recordings are only by time and channel. It sounds like it is tuning the analog cable and you can change channels, right? -MZ -- megazone-at-megazone.org http://www.MegaZone.org/ Gweep, Geek, Human, me. http://www.GizmoLovers.com/ http://www.Eyrie-Productions.com/ -><- Hail Eris "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 508-852-2171
