I forgot to mention one point here.
Change a file in your workspace, so you have a modified file.
Then open that new status dialog and deselect "M".
Now, you will notice that deselecting said "M" affects _both_
the left pane and the page in the tab to the right:
The "Text Diff" tab will become empty, if you deselect "M"
files.
So it not only affects the pane on the left.
