I recently used the network test as part of debugging (an ultimately unrelated issue). If you're considering reworking it, then here's my feedback:-
1) the different format between SB3/Boom and Radio/Receiver is awkward to provide a single answer 2) the controller/radio history is useful to show consistency of perofrmance but a calculated average would be nice. 3) it appears to be a player connection test (rather than the whole network) 4) The SB3 tests timeout, making it difficult to test all players simultaneously (my SB3's are on different floors, so I start one test run upstairs start the second and run down to see if there is an impact). 5) there is no clear 'pass' parameter - is 95% required or 100%. 6) my network happily streams synchronised FLAC to 5 players for weeks on end. The tests say it isn't capable of that! my experience is in the following http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14352 I like the suggestion of a 'ten minute test' for all players with a clear summary (perhaps a bit more than pass/fail) so that a network can be given the 'all-clear' or 'implicated' when testing issues. Recognise that what I would like could well be constrained by other limitations, including available effort ;-) keep up the good work. -- DigitalMitch 2 * SB3, 1 * Boom, 2 * SBR, 1 * Radio and 1 * Touch controlled by IR, SBC [and iPeng on iPhone - wifi died!!] 7.5.0 on WHS on HP MediaSmart (EX470) upgraded to 2G RAM http://www.last.fm/user/digimich ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DigitalMitch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15999 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77349 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
