My impression is that the digital out is very good indeed. I used to run an SB+ with a Bel Canto Dac3 but have replaced the SB+ with a Touch because it sounded the same to me though the DAC (which a SB Classic did not).
I thought the analogue outputs of the Touch were not quite as good as those of the SB+, but without level matching (and DBT!) it's impossible to be sure of this.
