Yeah, I think you got a bum unit as Phil suggests. I just tried all Touch outs into my AVR, cranked volume 100% on both Touch & AVR (nothing playing, obviously), no such hum while tapping Touch's ethernet jack.
I do get a consistent hum with Touch's headphone out in this scenario, but I believe that is normal for a headphone jack output to a fully cranked amp volume.
