there is no "handshake" - s/pdif and Toslink are one-way protocols. The transport has no clue what the DAC can/can't do (or even if it is plugged in!). The touch will not get downsampled 96kHz UNLESS: 1) it is synced with another non-24 SB device 2) you have fiddled with your SBS convert.conf file 3) you have set bitrate limiting on the settings - player - audio page What format are your music files? - and which version of SBS are you running? -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
