Thanks, you guys. I am on whatever standard version was current yesterday; that's when I downloaded and installed it.
At this point, it seems my choices are to (1) go to FLAC; (2) try that Beta SBS; (3) buy a new NAS and hope that would help; or (4) endure the occasional stoppage and hope for a new version soon. I may also try reinstalling and running SBS on my PC and see if that helps, I guess.
