Problem solved. A long time ago I had installed Intego NetBarrier, decided not to bother about it, quit it but did not uninstall. That left a daemon permanently running in the background that I was not aware of.
and the NetBarrier daemon had added the Touch to a stop list, permanently preventing connection to my computer. Reason given was that the Touch had tried a port scan (I'm not sure if this refers to normal behaviour of the Touch or was because of issues I had with the computer). I set the Touch to be on the Trusted list and all is now well. Incidentally, having a trusted list, knowing the address of LMS, etc, are reasons why one might want devices to have a fixed IP address, whether this is done by setting a static address on the device or by reserving an address in the router. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ danco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=210 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96295 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
