You are correct, my understanding of how this all works is limited, but
I've learned quote a bit recently in this thread alone. ;)

I appreciate the clarification.  I'm still adjusting to the differences
between using my iPad and my Windows based laptop.  As I mentioned
before, this is my first time using an Apple product, or any tablet for
that matter.

I guess the next step is to load iTunes on my laptop to learn how to
transfer music files to the iPad.

Again, I greatly appreciate the help. :)
