It depends on the DAC and the resolution of the file , it's a long tread but if you read you see that (bugs aside ) The DAC reports it's USB capabilities to EDO , which in turn reports to the server ,who decides if any transcoding should take place ? I think . Given that the file agrees with the DAC it is bit perfect if not possibly transcoded to the highest rate the DAC supports . That's how it's supposed to work ,but you better specify a particular DAC and a resolution . Then someone else may actually know for that specific combination how it will work . (some older usb1 dacs only supports 16/48 on their usb port ).
