Thanks for this (although, to be honest, I'm not sure what part of the
thread you wanted me to focus on:) ).  Just FYI - after installing the
EDO, I did try the kernel updater, changing the buffer size, and the
different cable connections.  They did not solve the problem.  And one
tweak caused the machine to shut down, requiring me to unplug and replug
it.  I took that as a sign.

I also sent an e-mail to Teac support.  Maybe the fix will be in some
forthcoming firmware upgrade for the DAC.  For the moment, I'm simply
going to live with this nit.
