Okay, I still can't replicate the problem you were showing, but I can come
close to it. Whenever I was running the easy_install, it would produce an
error message early on, but proceed anywyay (couldn't find the URL, but
then it appeared to follow the redirects, and it worked).
I've changed the Redirect statements in the config, and things now seem to
work properly. Here's what they look like:
RedirectMatch /(\d{1})(\d{1})(\d{1})(.*)?
http://www.turbogears.org/$1.$2/downloads/$1.$2.$3/$4
Redirect /current/
http://www.turbogears.org/2.1/downloads/current/index/
RedirectMatch ^/current(.*)?
http://www.turbogears.org/2.1/downloads/current/$1
RedirectMatch / http://www.turbogears.org/
For me, right now, it installs without producing any 404s at all, and the
access logs show that as well. Let me know if this works for you?
